Alden Chukka Boots in Color 8 Cordovan
This week we thought we'd take a look at an ever-popular (and therefore perhaps understated) champion of the shoe world; Alden's two-eyelet Chukka Boot in Color #8 Genuine Shell Cordovan.
There are many reasons why we believe this shoe is such a good choice for most, if not all, months of the year. We noted a few of them in the captions below.

Alden - 1339 Chukka - Color #8 Cordovan
The popularity of Color 8 Shell Cordovan is not only its rich aubergine color and deep sheen, but also its durability and comfort. With wear, the upper will conform to the wearer and rather than crease, it will bulge in the most delightful manner over the joints.
The styling of a Chukka boot is that of a half-high shoe that sits nicely under a smart pair of trousers or jeans. The minimal design elements makes this a fantastic shoe for adding versatility to one's wardrobe.
The Cordovan leather itself is sourced from the Horween Tannery which has a long history for producing some of the worlds best hides. Alden's similarly long-term partnership with Horween has allowed them to get the best out of eachother to produce an overall shell corodovan leather shoe experience that is difficult to beat.
The soles are reverse welted which adds to the protection and stability of the shoe as well as the aesthetic.
The 1339's are built on the 'Barrie' last which has a very comfortable fit whilst having a balanced and sophisticated silhouette.
The soles are comprised of two layers of Oak Bark tanned leather that is resilient and comfortable. It is not a very high risk to use them outdoors in the current weather but to be extra sure you may want to consider applying rubber 'sparesåler' just to be sure. Please contact us at skomakerdagestad@gmail.com if you would like further information on this.
We also recommend, as ever, a well fitted pair of shoe trees to help maintain the shape of the shoe and therefore give it a longer life.
